Red Dot sights

Thinking of getting one of these for myself. However I have no idea as to what's a good brand etc.

I was thinking of getting this "Tactical 4" sight made by NcStar:

But if anyone knows of anything better for a decent price ($50 or so), could you please let me know? I mean is there a huge difference between one of the "tube" looking sights and the open sights like the one above? Is one better for certain light conditions? That kind of thing. Thanks

good question....

i picked up one yesterday for my son's gun. i got a tasco "Red Dot" sight from Canadian Tire. the price was exactly what you had in mind.... it was 45.00 before taxes. works very well.

the paintball T9 Red-dot sights are pretty good. adjustable brightness and red/green illumination, which is more useful than you think. slap on some of Amos' lens protectors, and you are ready to rock and roll.

EDIT:

forgot to add that you dont need any special tools to adjust wind/elevation. just your fingers, which was a big bonus for me.
