G36c vs M4
Hey guys some of you met me at the match at LZ, and while talking to some of you and learning about starter gear, I came to the conclusion that I should start off with a m4 or a g36c. Now some will say that ak's are the way to go well my friend childofblood is getting one so I want to avoid an ak just to cover a larger game base. So out of your experience which gun would be better the m4 or g36, I will be upgrading either one I get for a larger battery and better internals.
Thanks in advance Maehem |

G36 and AK use V3 gearboxes which seal better than the V2 in the M4. So you'll get better performance with fewer upgrade parts than you would in the M4.
From a performance view, the G36/AK is the way to go. The AK seems to have a flaw where after a while your selector is unable to switch to semi auto, It's an easy fix but I don't know anything about it. Now the advantages of the M4: MAGAZINES you can fit 3 mags where you'd normally fit 2 G36 mags, and they're shorter than AK mags, plus theres lots of options you'll always find a brand of M4 mag that feeds in your gun, lots of exterior options too. |

G36C for sure, it will perform much better than the M4.

G36 w/m4 magwell conversion
All the pros of a V3 gearbox with the advantage of finding lots of nice small M4 mags. |

True enough. I had this problem develop on my Real Sword 2 weekends ago. Shoots fine in auto, but I can no longer get the selector switch to move into the semi position. Haven't taken it apart to investigate yet, as I don't see it as a real problem, since I never use semi anyway.

yeah and I think the m4 mag conversion kit is like 30 sum odd dollors, plus some one was telling me you can get a upgrade kit for the g36 and it upgrades everything thats "bad" with any components for like 150 I think it was, could be wrong about the price though.

I agree that the G36 is a better model to play with because it certainly does have a better mechbox design, plus it always comes with a folding stock for CQB moments. On the other hand, if you're going for asthetics as well as performance then the Armalite series of guns have the G36 series beat, hands down.
Sure you can get the same add ons for both guns, but the M4 always looks sweeter...in my opinion. My advice though is to get a KWA G36C and never look back dude. |

yeah i agree the looks are nice on the m4 but the gear box on the g36 would make up for the looks and I mean its not like the g36 is ugly.

Also Forgot to mention a G36c can be made into a MG36 if thats your style. But both guns can be made into the sniper or counter sniper if you want.

The only thing is that he wants to push it up to a large battery, so you'd need the larger foregrip. IMO ruins the G36, it looks like it has a Jay Leno chin.
And we all know how attractive that sounds. |

G36C or M4
Quote:
M4 has barrel wobble issues in the stock form , you pretty much have to get a cheap D-Boys or a TM S-System style front end or a free floating barrel RAS kit to fix that problem for good and start on a stable platform, then tune your mechbox for the game your playing ( Field or CQB ) G36C The G36C is a ugly gun but it grows on you, It was the last gun I bought. Has been my primary for 2 yrs now no problems. But war isnt pretty so get a G36C and do the G36K front end Mod , you will fit in a bigger battery and be able to fit a longer tight bore inner barrel, "It's just the right thing to do. " |

I forgot about that front end mod, what battery size do you think I could get out of that. Plus I mean it makes it look so good bringing a bit of length to the gun IMO balancing it out giving it a better line then the stock look. |

One big thing i'd suggest. Try shouldering each of them to make sure the rifle fits your body. I love the look of the fixed scope aug but when i got to try one out it was completely the wrong size for my arm length. Hopefully you'll be spending a lot of time with it in your arms so make sure you get something thats comfortable for you.

Blastphemy....
H&K is god. *Queue the arguement that the G36 was maybe originally developed by someone else*
