AI or Madbull propane adapter?
Hey guys, im wondering which propane adapter that you guys would recommend? the Madbull adapter (metal) or AI adapter (newest plastic one)
the Price is not the issue as they are similar, but im thinking the metal one is more durable. (looks a little cooler too :P ) I know plastic will not damage the seal as much, but green gas cans are metal anyways.... madbull: http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=733 AI: http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=715 |

I have both. AI > Madbull in terms of function.
The down side is the tip on AI breaks ridiculously easy if the propane can is dropped or the tip is bumped. I'm on my 3rd AI one in less than a year. Madbull are more durable, but I find they don't seal as well and spray propane a lot more on some mags (like TM). However, they're extremely durable.

As much as I'd like to support AI, they break too easily as mentioned before. If they brought back the metal ones, I would consider it...

I have the Madbull one, works great with my KWA mags. Great seal. I can't speak for the way it seals or works on other brand mags.

TM and WA mags are the ones the Madbull seems to not mate properly with. It works fine with my WE, KJW and KSC guns. Perfect seal on all.

AI all the way. I've had both the version 4 metal adapter, and the newest tan coloured plastic one, and i honestly have to say i like the plastic one more. The nozzle on the metal one would marr rendering it useless as half the gas would spray out. The plastic one i find seals better, just gotta protect the tip so it doesn't break though.

Personally, I would love to see AI make a metal adapter with replaceable plastic tips. IMO, that would be the best of both worlds - a solid, durable adapter that won't break at the slightest lateral force with "consumable", replaceable plastic tips that seal better.

Uhh... the plastic adapter already DOES come with replaceable tips... a spare one is even included with the kit and more can be ordered directly from AI.

Yeah, but when the main shaft on the adapter keeps snapping off at the base, it makes all these reusable tips sort of pointless.

AI all the way. It's plastic but don't drop your propane tanks... it's as easy as that. I believe AI also switched to plastic because the metal tip ones would actually bend when dropped. I'm not sure how easily this happens on the Mad Bull adapter tips but I'm sure there's a chance of it if it drops too. As Illusion said, the AI one also comes with a replaceable tip and one extra tip/duster adapter is also included.
The silicone oil is also included with the AI kit. It'll last a long time on that little bottle.

Stick with the AI. Platic wont mar your fill valves. Just keep the adapter protected and their should be no reason it will break

I had one of the original AI ones (probably version 1) and recently had to replace it, after it had gotten bent/unbent/hammered back into shape once too often.
Looking at the plastic Ver 5 I was very weary, but after reading poor reviews about the Madbull one I decided to give it a try, since Airsoftparts had a sale on. After having used it for several months now, I can safety say I like it a lot better than the metal ones. Good seal, the plastic is sturdy (you'd need to really put effort in to break it). My only complaint was that it didn't come with a cap, wish it did (I think they do now?)
