1911 mod

Hi,

Im considerinng getting a WE 1911 GBB with Tac Rail, install a silencer and use it instead of a AEG for CQB game. 2 questions:

1) Is there any extended TB Barrel out there that could be use to increase accuracy and fps (hidden in the silencer)?

2) I read that some laser pointing device are harmless to the eye (hence could be use during game). Anyone knows where we can get these device to be hook on the tac rail?

you read wrong about the laser pointers, they DO damage your eyes & they are not allowed at games.

As far as silencers go, I have heard from a couple of people that threaded barrels designed for TM 1911's are compatible with WE 1911's. I have not tested this myself. Your best bet is to look at different airsoft sites such as ArniesAirsoft and see how many people have attempted the same thing.

Like you, I too wish to put a silencer on my 1911. I just haven't got around to doing it yet.

Anything out there from Tanio Koba in the very long length for 1911?

I believe in Tanio now (it amazing for 340 fps AEG)

Don't believe so, all the TK GBB barrel I've come across are sized to particular models. No extended versions I've seen.

Hope you fully appreciate what you're setting yourself up for. Depends where you CQB I guess.

Honestly I wouldn't worry about getting a longer barrel. I hear good things about the Tanio Koba twist barrel (plan on getting one for my 1911). I'd love to see empirical data on extended vs. regular length barrels, but offhand I don't feel it's worth it. YMMV

Forget it, I don't know of anyone who allows lasers in Montreal -area games, and for good reason (there have been a couple of incidents). Either way, just forget it, it's just a matter of time before someone walks up and punches you for shining it in their face.

Throw on an X200 or TLR-1 or something. Way more useful.

Yes. TM2011 has the same inner barrel length as the 1911.

You could get a 7" PDI 6.01 or 6.05 barrel and get one of their compensator to hide it. Or instead of their compensator you can get a silencer to screw on their compensator attachment...
