mini vs large type batteries
I tried looking over the forum, so if this thread is already floating around, please direct me to it, and I will gladly ask for the deletion of this thread.
Now since I've been looking at a couple models for an AEG, I've been trying to figure out if there truly is that much of a difference in these types of batteries. I am quite the noob, so I am just looking for some friendly advice between the two. Any help is appreciated. Cheers, and Rock N Roll \m/ |

Large batteries are better because they can store more energy and last longer than minis.

Yes. Large batteries last ALOT longer. That is all you need to know.
Searching google even will give you a ton of info about this. Typically, for myself, a 600mah mini will sometimes need to be charged 2 times to last a full day. A large battery, will not. |

Or if you have better mini batteries, like myself, they do just fine as well. I use a 1500 mAh mini with a Systema M120 spring (400 fps) and I fired over 1000 rounds (probably closer to 1200-1500) at a game one day, and my battery was still going.

I have a 8.4V Large battery with 4200 MaH. I've yet to run out of battery power ever.

Large batteries will also drive bigger springs without a problem, whereas you'll need torque up gears to run a 400fps spring with a mini

try to avoid a mini battery as their mah cap is very limited, its been said that a 7.2v 1600mah large battery is equal to if not better than a 9.6 2200mah mini battery (thats just a loose egsample, but you get my drift) the battery is a big deal, and should weigh in heavily on your gun decision. get a large battery gun if you can.

Or put it in a different way: when you are in the middle of nowhere, what will you do when your mini battery runs out of power? Do you have a spare one? Do you have the means to recharge it on the spot? If not, a large-type battery should last you for two entire days of gaming.

I use upgraded guns so I tend to go with large batteries, which push the system much better than mini batteries. However, some may have no choice if their battery compartment options are limited.
You can overcome some of the time limitations by having a second battery charged and ready. In winter, large batteries will resist the cold much better, but as the temperature drops further this difference becomes marginal. Keeping a spare battery warm in an inside pocket is an excellent strategy. Battery choice is generally dictated by what you need to power your gun and the storage space available to you. |

I've never had problems with small batts. I have had a 1200mah 9.6 in a p90 last over 1400 shots on a spring that shoots 350fps with .20's and at the end of that day it still had juice in -2 weather.
I'm now using a xm8 and still have had no problems with mini's and it shoots 385 fps with .20's. Then again I don't have a heavy trigger finger so I don't need the large capacity batteries. And yes you can use a large battery as long as you have a full stock, or crane stock, or PEQ to store it in.

I recently used a mini 9.6v (600 mah I believe) and I went for a whole day with a stock AGM MP40. It was a great battery. I need to charge up the new 8.4v 1200mah mini and see how it performs. But I'm expecting good things.
