Red Dot or Scope or Iron Sight
What do you guys use on your airsoft gun?

Personal preference and what your wallet can handle... Some guys use holosights, some prefer their iron sights, some put on big ole scopes, some use red dots, etc etc. Its all up to you to be honest and what you can afford to put on and what kind of look you're going for on your gun.

Personally, I can never use my iron sights because of goggles/mask issues. Scopes are better, but not by much, unless you use a rail riser. Then you have the fact that generally scopes are far better than an airsoft gun can hope to be. For me, red dots are the way to go, especially for CQB. I've never had any issue with my goggles.

I use both, co-witnessed my Aimpoint with the flip-up sights on my gun.

A well sighted acog does the trick for me i seem to find that it really depends on the gun you use.

Cheap Tasco Red Dot sights on both my MP5 (large tubes, fast acquisition picture regardless of cheek weld position.......... allows ownage over users of smaller tube sights and scopes faster), and 3-9x40 scopes on my sniper rifles. Iron sights on all my pistols.

Scope on my SR-25. Iron sight on my 1911. For my 2 next AEG, it's going to be red dot.

I use an RDS, but an open, reflex type. Gives you much more visibility then a standard cylindrical/scope-style RDS.
Personally, I find the iron-sights to obscure your vision too much. It's probably the most accurate aiming method, but you can't see much clearly. I don't like scopes at all. Nothing wrong with them, it's just that I, personally, have no use for them. |

I have a Docter style micro reflex sight (Samurai) piggy-backing on an M3 scope (King Arms). It's awesome.

Much of it has to do with personal preference. It never hurts to practise with iron sights - if your primary sight goes down for any reason, these are all you'll have!
I've tried occluded eye sights, open style reflex sights, the tubed red dot sights, scopes and holosights. For a heavily upgraded AEG on a large field I'll use a scope, just because my eyesight really sucks. Otherwise I prefer a co-witnessed EOTech. The projected hologram effect really is quite neat, and I find it hard to go back to any other sight now. It's like the difference between playing an FPS with textured 3D models and playing one with bitmaps. |

Thanks for your opinions.
I have another question... what makes an EOTech holosight (I've seen ones for $300+) better than say... this: ($60) http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=23040 |

For all intents and purposes though, go for the cheaper version if money is an issue. Mine has worked perfectly for me, and only cost me $45. However, the cool factor has to come into play, in which case, you can't really beat an EOTech. |
