You can buy the 10 round mags for the Rock River Arms LAR-15. They are legal and will fit in any .223 AR. You can buy 30 round mags pinned to 5 rounds, but unfortunately it becomes prohibited if you remove the rivet or other capacity-restriction means. It doesn't matter whether you own an AR or not, or even if you have a PAL. You just can't get real ammo without a PAL.

I bought some Pachmyr dummy rounds for training and storage. They cost $12 for 2 and I can get 40 real rounds for $14

Kos , i dont see any reason why the magpul mags couldnt be pinned. If the israeli ar mags and thermolds can be pinned im sure the magpuls could be.

Should mention that they are often referred to as "Snap Caps" and are usually blue, but I think I've seen some in red.

I have them in .223, .40 S&W, 12 GA. and 30/30 and they're all red. I have seen some in blue though as well.

All the ones I've seen have been red, but recently Le Baron has been stocking them in blue. Dunno if any difference.

Dumb question time!
To obtain a RS mag, one must have the appropriate PAL or are accessories free game? |
September 1st, 2007, 16:24 | #14 |
No PAL required, as long as you buy accessories or most parts. Ammo and regulated items like receivers require a PAL.
