Trying to determine a model of a gun.
Hey guys, im really new in here, and of course i expect to get mocked out of some of you, but to the question. Im intrested in buying a model off my friend, and i want to know what brand company he has, so i can do further research in regards to reliablity and upgrades.
How can i tell who made it? |

they're made of plastic.. now I'm no genius but I'll bet if you look long and hard you'll find a logo somewhere.
Of course, if he played with the internals then you wont know too much from just the brand name. |

you might want to start with what kind of gun it is... a whole bunch of highly detailed pictures would also help.

A metal Glock 17, you're in luck! There's only ONE company in the WORLD that makes a metal Glock 17...with a metal MAG too.
Heads up, that's some pretty intense sarcasm. There are many companies, HFC, KJW, KSC, TM makes one with a guarder slide, etc. |

It might be KSC or Tokyo Marui. IIRC only KSC and TM make Glock 17 GBB. Post some pictures of lower frame.

Good thing you didn't take a picture of ANY of the markings or a full view of the gun, because that wouldn't have helped us AT ALL.

And MGC (for the classics crowd.)
But based on the photos provided (specifically of the Glock marking on the back of the mag), it's definitely not KSC nor is it MGC... I haven't handled a TM G17 yet, so I can't say, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a TM.

Edit:
Shit. KSC Glocks have the nameplate as well. Okay, after much deliberation I have concluded that this positively a KSC G17. I thought it was a TM at first, but there are some minor discrepancies that make it impossible to be a TM. What you have there is a KSC G17. Last edited by vatek; May 10th, 2007 at 18:40.. |

I was just looking at the serial number plate as well, and noticed the lack of space to move...
Does the KSC G17 mags have the logo on the back? I never noticed that before, and I know KSC has had trademark/legal issues with Glock before. My KSC G19 magazines definitely don't have the logo and as far as I can remember, the 49 round magazines did not have a logo either.
