Sorry if this is a repost...

For those of us who struggle with AK mag changes (I did having learned on the M4 platform)...here is how you do it right, including function checks and inspection....

mmmh a technique that doesn't involve the (airsoft/fragile) magazine getting thrown in the sand would be good too...

As the AK does not have a bolt hold open device, when it stops firing the 1st action is to check for a stoppage or hard extraction.. if you find the bolt carrier fully forward.. the next action is to change the magazine charge the weapon and continue firing.

Honestly, the part of any reload I've found hardest is just getting the magazine from storage to hand.

I'd be really interested to see that from another angle. Does he "prime" his magazines? Near the end of a magazine, has he already opened a magazine pouch and gotten the end just a little out for grabbing?

Magpulls?

I hope this doesn't sound like criticism, because that's a helluva reload, but like I say, I would really appreciate more the "getting the magazine in your hand" part, because the "on the gun" stuff is alot easier to drill (I feel).

Being on a two-way range might change your mind.

Open pouch tops, and practice. Over and over and over again. It helps to orientate the mags in the pouches so that when you pull them out and flip them over, they're facing the right direction.
