xm8 battery

well im going to try and fit a larger battery in my xm8, i got room above the barrel assy and under the barrel assy to fit 9.6v mini, idealistically id love to get a 9.6v 3600 large in there, but as it stands in its brick form, it wont fit. the large battery is too wide to fit in the forstock w/o sitting cockeyed, and is too long to sit above.

my question is, anybody w/ a degree in the "fitting a battery in a small place knowledge 101" have any ideas or recomendations?

Here's the obvious - sell the gun and buy something that fits a large battery.

if you have space above and space below just take two 9.6 volt minis and connect them in parallel. their what, like 1100mA, that would give you 2200mA to play with.

*EDIT: Just checked, 9.6 v minis are 600mA, that gives you a total of 1200mA to work with. That or go external?

HEY! THERES A GREAT IDEA! why didnt i think of that? oh, is that what you say to everyone with an m4? cmon scru all joking aside, im asking for input from people in "large batteries in small places", not smartassology. (i didnt mean that offensivly either scru)

that battery sling isnt a bad idea, i didnt even know they exsisted, not egsactly what im looking for, but it would be a good plan b if theres no solution.

If you've got room for the equivilant of two minis, you might want to look into butterfly config batteries. For example: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=12169

hmm i see, that did cross my mind, but i wasnt sure how well that set up works, what is nunchuck mini equivelant to on a larger battery? if you combined two minis could you get the 3300+mah? do they work as well as a large battery?

well both. im planing on upgrading the mech box, so a 9.6v would be a nice addition, and way longer battery life.

attach a rail to the bottom of the handguard, then get a STAR M800 battery carrier and battery, looks like this:

I hear there's a handsome devil in Toronto that may have one of these in stock.... just saying ya know...
