Umarex HK G36 KV - can you mount a vertical grip

Hi

I'm trying to mount a vertical grip on my Umarex HK G36 KV

I have purchased a UTG Foldable Tactical Foregrip that mounts on Picatinny/Weaver rails.

UTG Foldable Tactical Foregrip

The problem is my G36 is the KV variant which does not have a Picatinny lower rail. I'm new to airsoft - didn't realize this.

The lower "rail" looks dove tail like:

<<< see attached photos >>>

And I was wondering if maybe I could use this:

UTG Dovetail-To-Picatinny Low Profile Rail Adaptor, Black

...to mount the vertical grip

Would it work? Any other suggestions?

Any advice would be hugely appreciated.

This is closer to what you'd want. http://www.hkparts.net/shop/pc/G36-H...-Rail-p285.htm

Tha handgaurd has no mounting points you will have to find a way to bolt a rail on

Thanks for the replies.

I contacted Umarex Customer Support too. They just got back to me. lurkingknight's right - there are no mounting points.

Umarex Customer Support tell me the other way is to drill some holes and try to install a rail but it would be very difficult given the design of the carbine's underside. Damn.

are there no holes on the underside? my G36E handguard had holes you can pass bolts through, all you need is a nut/lock nut anything to distribute the load across as broad a surface as you can to screw into. Don't forget your locktite.

or you can import the apple airsoft g36k railed handguard for like 30 bucks. Only problem is you need to dremel it to make it fit... the hooks on the bottom where it slides into the 2 pegs is not deep enough (at least on my CA36) and it had to be cut deeper to make the pin holes on the top all line up.

FYI I have a long rail (classic army) if your looking for a hand guard to cut/drill holes/modify. PM me if your interested in that at all. Just thought I would throw that out there.
