Bioval clear 0.27g silica BB's being banned
Apologies if this is a repost (I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere) and/or if this is the wrong Sub-forum but found this on Reddit and thought it interesting.
http://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comm...banned_at_all/ I'm new to the sport, so not sure how much these are being used (if at all) but it may be worthwhile to switch them up if you do. Looks like they can cause some pretty nasty damage. |

This is pretty old news, stemming from an incident several years ago in Europe.
At any rate, silica BBs (Bioval clear, Madbull/BBBastard Silica) are pretty much banned from most games. There are many excellent quality non-silica BBs available so regardless of the debate surrounding the silica BBs there's no reason to risk it. (actually BB Bastard had a video on Youtube, destroying a greenhouse with them; it may still be around).

Not the video in question but related, a very objective analysis of the silica BBs compared to a regular styrene BB. Very educational if you want to understand why they're banned:
http://youtu.be/FNqwbyiCPm8 since you're new, the two dudes are our very own Blackthorn and Renegade), who are part of BB Bastard.
