Bitch Boxes
What exactly are your thoughts on hicap mags? At what capacity do you consider a mag hicap?
personally, I don't mind the use of them, although it does get annoying when you have that one guy with a 2000 round drum mag and a crazy gearbox paired with a lipo, and he's spraying the place with silly string.

I think any mag beyond 150 would be hi-cap. It starts to get annoying when they can sit there spraying you non stop and you have to take your time with shots and reload. But the other guy is still on the trigger. I would perfer that drum mags and hi-caps stick to support guns like a LMG or HMG but thats just me.

LOL....
Mid Caps are usually 120-ish rounds...but some are 90-190. Depends on the make/style. Low caps usually top out around the 70-ish mark. A high cap is generally though of as anything wound/motor powered and holds 200+ (most are 300-ish). A drum/snail/box mag would definitely be a "hicap" in that sense...around here they are usually used on SAW/LMGs. |

lol, theres people who play airsoft and people who are all navy seals and kill anything that moves, airsofters and the 5 star general milsim guys.
people who play airsoft like yourself and myself say whatever as long as someone isnt using full auto like you said. Normally highcaps are considered anything with a winding magazine and a capacity of 200 or more IMHO. It is more fun and realistic however to at least run Mid Caps, where you actually need to reload on occasion. People who play realsoft or LARPing airsoft with the army uniforms and the full crazy loadouts. These guys normally play with Gas blowbacks only, and Everything is real cap. 30 round mags for rifles, no more then 15 in pistol mags. More common to find former or current military presence. they are very fun if run correctly. I prefer to skirmish and dont really mind what people use, as long as they are being safe on the field shooting under the limit ETC.

Friends don't let friends be mag ticklers..
but in some cases there is little choice, my STG44 only has highcaps available.

I've always wondered if there was an airsoft STG44; how is it?

The only time I'd game a high cap is with a backup or loaner gun and have no space to take a full load out. Even then I typically try to take 5 mid caps. Other use would be home testing/plinking or when running the chrony station at a game. |

The BAR is a high cap only gun too...and maybe the Sten (can't remember).
Anyways...for particular specific stuff like that I don't see an issue...and those guys are usually well tuned into the theme/experience of the game vs. hosing stuff down. |

Anything winding, manual or otherwise, is a high cap
Midcap rules keep changing, it's generally around 190 but I think they make them even bigger now =/ Lowcaps I think are at 90 now because of the KA FAL or something. Anyway it's generally 70-90 Realcaps are self explanatory Some people use highcaps for scrims here, but it really does take some of the fun and challenge out. |

I can only find Hi-Caps for my TM MC51. And they're manual windups. I find them annoying. Would rather have midcaps if I could find them here in Canada.

The bright side is that my MC51 is my indoor gun, and most games indoors are just skirmishes, so who cares? But I find that outdoors is another matter altogether. Thank god I got an AEG with some midcaps. Still, my experience with manual windup highcaps have been less than positive. They are noisy. The manual windup makes it so that it doesn't save me much time reloading anyways, getting those last few rounds winded up can be a pain in the ass, and in the case of my Cyma AKM's highcap... they're junk!
So personally I don't care about the manual windups. The battery operated ones, however, I can see why they would be considered a little unbalanced gameplay wise. |
