M16A4 & M16A2's
I've actually been doing quite a bit of research on the various M16 variants including the stuff used by the Air Force. However, I can't find any info on whether any M16A4's have been issued with plastic handguards. Are they all rails? or have some early M16A4's been issued with the "Bugles" plastic handguards? I've tried looking at photos of soldiers in deployment, and all I've found are M16A4's with the M5 rails.

Yes, by definition the M16A4's specifications are that it has the KAC M5 RAS.
Otherwise it would be an A2.

BTW another thing you might see is an A4 upper on an A2 (markings) lower. Some upgrades went that way.

Oh cool. Btw, are weapon lights standard issue? If so or if not, how do soldiers usually mount flashlights onto A2's? Barrel clamp?

If all of them have been done before, I'm guessing they don't have standard issued weapons light then?
