Winding magazine
I'm wondering about a MP5 Hi-cap 200 round winding magazine, but because I've never heard about the winding mechanism, I'm unsure whether to buy it.
Can someone tell me how they work, and if they are reliable enough to use in the field as a primary? |

The hicap winding mechanism uses a coiled spring connected to a cog/gear that pushes the BBs from the resevoir up through a tube to the top of the mag. I couldn't find a diagram or a picture of an opened hicap on Google, cause it would explain it so much better than words.
In terms of reliability, they are not as reliable as a well-oiled lowcap, and they also can't feed as fast. Most brands are definitely reliable enoungh for field use, for most people at least. If you've got a gun with a very high ROF, you may find that you'll be getting a lot of misfeeds and dry fires with a hicap, because it can't feed fast enough. Also, a number of people don't like hicaps, myself included, because reloading is fun and challenging. It's kinda lame to see a guy shoot a few hundred rounds at you without moving anything but his trigger finger.

Okay, thanks. I guess I'll get a couple of low-caps then.

You can also try mid caps. Their spring loaded and hold 100rds. Just pour a little silicone oil into where you load the bb's and they works damn fine.
Spec Arms, our local retailer sells them for $45 each. http://specarms.com/products/display...facturer=G%26P Their located in richmond and will ship item's to your house if you like. |

G&P? Can they be trusted? I've heard stories where other companies' mags don't work properly in Tokyo Marui MP5s. By the way, I'm planning on getting the TM MP5k. It'll go with a TM M3 Super 90 as my backup/main weapon. |

I use my G&P Mid caps in my MP5K and they work like a charm. No misfeed or jam's at all. They worked just as good with my other MP5K as well. If you'd like to discuss MP5K's & anything else more, hit me up on msn @ mc__grove@hotmail.com . I think I can probaly give ya some good info & answer any questions about MP5's or anything else in general. |

you might be thinking CA?...there used to be a lot of complaints about the gear. i never heard complaints about G&P before. i have a few midcaps and they work just fine. id actually reccomend them over hicaps, but its up to you. ask aroudn at a game, youll soon figure out which one you like better.
