WE Open Bolt SCAR Semi Automatic mod
So, I have my SCAR running on CO2 and using it at 500 FPS, with the EBR precision inner and a scope. I'm currently filling a DMR role with it, and the restrictions on my community require that my gun be rigged to not allow full auto shooting. I took a look at the lower receiver/triggerbox, and while I noticed a couple of things, I'm not sure what the best (less invasive/most reversible) way of disabling full auto is.
Perhaps someone with better knowledge of this particular triggerbox might be able to help. Thanks, Fox. |

Mod the selector so that the side on auto is flat with nothing poking out
YouTube - ‪WE AWSS M4 semi only conversion‬‏ All the WE system uses AR-15 firing set. so it works even in M14, G36. |

I have the exact same setup for my scar. I have not done the mod yet. But I was planning on getting another trigger mechanism. That way I can swap it out if I want my full auto back. I'm just going to fork up the 100 bucks and get a second open bolt kit. The extra parts is worth it in my opinion.

That mod is the only way one can safely without issue to prevent full auto. If it was a m4 I'd say buy an ar-15 selector, but scar does not use a rs scar selector

I was thinking more along the lines of making a small hole behind the selector and adding a pin through. The pin will come out and not allow the selector to go into full auto. It's pretty stupid in my opinion, but so's the "semi only" for DMRs rule.
Thanks for the opinions, guys. Fox. |

by the way, how accurate is your scar dmr? My part 27 is broken so I haven't had a lot of time to test it.

So can you buy just an extra selector and mod one, keep the other one the full auto?
If not, id have to say Ross has the next best idea, everyone can always use spare parts |

I think I'll be going for the pin idea. It's just drilling a small hole on the lower receiver and passing a pin through. I don't see how breaking a part is a better idea, regardless of getting spare parts or not. Fox. |

Yes Ross =P I finally get some time to venture.... Fox, if you do the pin idea then if you ever decide to go back to assault, you will have a hole in your lower receiver.

On a related note...how the heck does the triggerbox come off? I've taken off the grip and the yellowish screw on the back, but now I'm stuck. For either of the options I need the thing off the lower receiver.

just above your mag release on the right side of the gun there is a small flat head screw, you have to unscrew it and pull it out (its like a pin that holds the front end down) then you have to take off your fire mode selectors... (DONT LOOSE YOUR SPRING AND BEARING that give your selector the "Click") Once you get those three things off it should just pull right out
