Alright, done shopping the pictures.
Alright, on the blowback chamber there are two indentations on each side. Their purpose.......... to allow the pistol to function correctly. iunno, whatever not gonna explain that. Now, in the full-auto hi-capa, I'm quite sure that the blowback chamber is just cast like this shape to allow it to do what it does. The left is the original, the right is the modified side. ![]() what this mod does is make sure that the valve knocker retract back into position right away after the round has been fired, possibly making it more economic on gas. This is the second mod that I believe will allow it to function properly. This is on the other side of the chamber Left is the original, right is the mod. Photo courtesy of Jugglez. ![]() What this small groove does is that it causes the hammer to lock back after every shot making the user pull the trigger for each shot they take. By cutting this groove longer, it will allow the hammer to freely move while the person has the trigger down, but as soon as they let go then the firing will stop. However, i see a possible problem with this. after the shot is fired and the slide begins to travel forward again the hammer will get caught on the piston's body. If it doesn't get snagged on that, then it will move forward enough to activate the valve knocker. But if the slide isn't in the right position the loading chamber won't be in the right position to accept the gas therefore either spewing out all the gas, or still work but kill the gas efficiency a bit. All i know is that i'm gonna try to mod the other side as well if i can get my dad to do the cut at his workplace. EDIT: actually, i took a look again at my capa, i don't think the second mod will work unless its cut all the way to the front. The other option is to cut the top of the trigger bar inside so that it no longer sits inside that groove, but its a permanent mod and i don't feel like screwing up my pistol yet unless someone has an extra hi-capa trigger bar to donate to me Last edited by Daiviet; December 5th, 2008 at 14:59.. |

So i've spend the past hour milling out the section for the second mod, turns out the problem i thought would happen happened.
I tried it on an old blowback chamber i had. Racked the slide, and pulled the trigger. It fired, however the hammer released before the slide could move fully forward, therefore causing the hammer to catch the back end of the blowback chamber and not resetting fully forward. HOWEVER, i have a possible solution, which may explain whats happening in the videos as well. Install buffers on the recoil rod to prevent slide overtravel. That way the slide will move back far enough to reset the hammer, but not far enough to allow the hammer to get caught under the blowback chamber. Doing this however would actually render the slide catch useless since the slide doesn't move back far enough to get caught, which to me makes perfect sense! Many people caught on that in the demo video when the guys ran their mags empty the slide never caught, and since the slide is moving too fast to see you can't tell if the slide is moving back all the way either. I'll try with the buffers later on, right now though i reallllly gotta get back to doing homework. |

I THOUGHT that the actual gun might have reduced slide travel. Maybe that's the right solution then.

confirmed, they're using a buffer for their recoil rod. Only for the purpose of having a higher rate of fire though. Oh, and yea its released now. |

just want to bump this thread ans asking a few question regard to this gun.
I will get one soon and should be at my front door next week so I just wonder if any slide will be fit on this gun, I plan to upgrade to metal slide but not sure if the regular aftermarket slide design for TM Hi-capa 4.3 will fit on this gun as well. Thanks in advance. Cheers ! KND

Not sure where you got your information but I just put the Extreme PGC slide on a stock 4.3 Hicapa and it works just fine !!! I will say that you CAN use any 4.3 aftermarket slide on an Extreme so long as you use it's stock internals...

So in turn you could also use a 5.1 slide? Might weigh more and cycle slower, but it's possible.

TM hi capa Extreme
now im a gamer not a collector and im wondering what people think of the TM Hi Capa 4.3 Extreme.
i see it as a great looking and very useful side arm, mind you it is only full auto but that turns my crank. also wondering if there is a way to get the slide to lock back when out of bb's? |
