Need Confirmation on Something
I haven't been on AirsoftCanada in a while, so please don't be rude if I ask this. I just heard that a new law was passed in Canada stating that airsoft guns coming into Canada from now on must have clear receivers for them to be legal. My question is, would it still be possible for me to get regular (close to exact replica without clear receiver) airsoft guns delivered to me from another country? I do have my Non-Restricted Firearms Possession and Acquisition license after all. I'm assuming that law only complies with people who don't have a PAL license. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

No. It applies to everyone. And it's not that new actually.

Damn, that really sucks. The only reason why I got my Non-Restricted Firearms Possession and Acquisition license was to be able to get good airsoft guns from Hong Kong where their much cheaper. So for sure, I can't get an exact or close to replica airsoft gun anymore?

Nope. Except through private importers here on the classifieds.

Airsoft isn't a firearm... Didn't they mention anything to you about that in the course? |

PAL/RPALs are not enough to import anything. Including REAL firearms. To import airsoft, you need a BFL-business firearms license. To import RS, you need to have alot of money, and someone who's FFL ready. |

Damn, guess it's true you learn something new everyday. I never knew that, thanks for clearing that up with me.

So what about the most of us who have airsoft guns that don't have clear receivers. Does that mean that we're breaking the law just by owning one?

If you try to import anything on your own, you may be in for some crapping.... More than that, I don't think so. But you may want to brush up on your definitions (not trying to be offensive), and what qualifies as a "firearm", and so on. Cheers |

So does the clear body rule apply to pistols as well?
