top notch battery charger

ok here's my question :

Is having a top quality battery charger like this one http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...ca886e18f102df

really worth it if you're just starting airsoft ? Spending 90 $ for a battery charger when I only have one AEG seems to be a bit overkill..

what's your opinion ?

If you save $80 by going with a cheap charger, you'll probably spend at least $80 replacing batteries over a year or two. A good charger pays for itself.

you really think wall chargers ( 35 $ ) that most retailers sell will 'break' my batteries ? If so , I'll go with the Bol flame

At $35, they're making a huge profit off of you, they're worth at most $10. All batteries die eventually... a good charger will make them last a lot longer, and you'll get more juice out of them every charge.

My charger setup (yes, setup, I needed an external power supply too) cost me over $300. Was it worth it to know exactly how much charge my batteries are getting and being able to tailor the charge characteristics for each pack I own? Hell yes.

I totally understand that , Gryphon.

The point is that I wont be getting another AEG for a long time ( that also means not another battery ). So if I have only one battery to charge for now , is it really worth the big extra bucks ?

I think their point is if you don't buy a good charger and take care to this one battery then you'll probably be buying a new battery sooner than you think. If you don't want to be buying another battery soon buy a good charger.

It's very easy to fry your batteries with cheap wall chargers. In my 4 years playing airsoft i spent about $300 on batteries before i broke down and bought a good charger. Since i did i haven't messed up a battery yet.

So really it's up to you how much money you have to waste. If you want to have to replace your battery packs every season then keep using a cheap charger... if not then buy a good one. It's well worth it in the long run.

I wish i had bought a good charger in the begining... it would have saved me alot of money... and headaches.

you just convinced me. Buying quality at the beginning will probably be better in the long run.

thanks a lot

What about those Smart chargers that are being sold for like $50-$60? Are those not good?
