Question Rails, weaponlight for CA36K, help needed!

I need a weapon-mounted light for my K, but I'm having a hard time finding an application-specific rail. Will a G36C rail fit my gun? The closest I could find was this.

Also, any recommendations on weapon-mounted lights? This whole thing is a little new to me, and I find the selection overwhelming. This seemed pretty decent for my application. Any thoughts?

Nic

Any rail that'll fit the G36C will also fit the G36K.

Sweet, that's real good to know. Now, what about that light I've got linked there? Look good or what?

I prefer the 12V lights myself. It all depends on what you need it for, ie night games, tracing your shots, pimp factor, etc...

IMHO, those super urber lights in CQB are just shat. They light the walls up so much it hurts your eyes...not to mention other peoples eyes.
personally, I only use a small LED light on my gun. Soft white. Doesnt give away my position and just enough light to see where I am going. I only use it to see where I am going without taking my hands off my rifle.

The idea of using a insane light to blind your opponents is great in real life, but it just hurts the eyes of your friends at night.

ofcourse, you could always strap light like mine to your rail and go CQB

yah, thats 12,000,000 candlepower

At night, you shoot with your ears, not your eyes.

I'd say the best bang for your buck Tac Light is the Surefire G2 Nitrilon (sp?) siries. You can get them at Bass pro in OD or black for roughly $50 with batteries. You may also want to look into 6P pelicans, from what I've seen the are of good quality too, however I don't know what they cost.

As for night-games. Don't forget taclights work both ways. Sure you can light up the enemy, but your also puttin out a dirty great "SHOOT ME I'M HERE" beacon. How many night games have you played? You'll likely see a greater fun/preformance increase from just practicing more at night than any tac light will give you.

Now NVGs on the otherhand....

That doesnt matter though if you dont like your friends. :-D I have a Surefire M96 (125 lumens) for my G36c and a Streamlight M2 (90 lumens) for my USP. It may hurt for a little bit, but it doesnt do any damage. Besides, I only need to keep the light on for long enough to shoot them, I dont keep it on all the time. The brighter the light the better IMO. I only turn it on when I'm shooting, so it doesnt give away my position when walking and such. And when I turn on the light, its beautiful. It scares the shit out of them, surprises the hell out of them, and before they know whats going on, they're "dead". It's hard to shoot back if you cant open your eyes.

EDIT: But yes, if there are multiple targets you may be in trouble. You probably cant light em all up at once, so the ones that arent lit up can take you out easily. I'm talking more CQB though.

Well you see we play in a car lot of a towing company, so it's real close and quite dark. I would only momentarily flash my light to acquire a target, and then shut it off as I'm firing. Plus, since weapon-mounted lights seem to be standard equipment for most RL operators now, they must be good. And I really don't care if I blind someone, keep in mind that we do full-auto 400+fps and lasers. Yep, we're kinda crazy here in Kelowna.
