Universal Leg Holster Question
Okay so I had a brand new Universal Leg Holster lying around and I tried it with my Glock 17 and it's a perfect fit except the fact that if you press hard enough on the part that is against the mag release of course the magazine itself unlocks and falls out. Is there a good Universal Leg Holster for the Glock 17 that you guys recommend? I'm in the GTA and would prefer local purchase but if there's a online alternative that people say is trust worthy I'd consider it. I like Beaver Surplus because I can bring in my weapon and try it out etc. Thanks guys.

That's the problem with any cloth holster. That is why a lot of us choose to run hard or kydex holsters, usually with some active retention.
Entire pistols have also known to be lost out of cloth holsters. When most people see "cloth" or "universal" holster, they also see "crap" and "this will make me lose my $50 mags or $300 pistol". Spend the money and get a decent holster. |

So my next question(s) would be; 1) Where's the best place to purchase said holster and which one should I get? (I've read that the Glock 17 one doesn't fit the TM Glock 17 so in turn my WE version would also be an issue?) 2) Can it be modified to use as a drop leg holster? |

I use SERPAs for my 226s and haven't had an issue yet whereas with my uni holster the only sidearm I can use with it is a revolver. Even that has been known to slip out a couple of times.

It might all depend on what pistol you are running, seems like there is a off the shelf setup for any configuration for a Glock or an M9 but since I dont use either I picked up the Blackhawk "Special operations holster" It will fit a large frame pistol very nicely (TM Px4) never had an issue with it dumping the mag out of the gun and I only had an issue once of the gun falling out (because I didn't fasten the strap).
Biggest issue with the holster is that you have to remember to resecure your pistol in the holster every time, and the buckle on the additional over flap got shot and cracked it.

I wouldn't suggest it if it was a stupid idea! Cut it and use a soldering iron or lighter to seal the cut edge.

However, you do need to replace the nuts with some posilock units from the hardware store... ;-) Also available in country for a bit more. |

Totally off subject, but I do have to mention the fact that you acquired a lot of weaponry over a short time!
