I was wondering if there was any airsoft aep/gbbp that would replicate the beretta 92fs in size, weight, trigger weight, single action/double action function? I know gas mags are quite heavy so a polymer frame could fit the bill. This would be for my daily dry fire practice, which includes sight placement and unholstering. Since i cannot bring my beretta 92 to the cottage, this would substitute on those week-ends...

You could try the KWA M9 PTP or the Socom Gear M9. They're both fairly close weight and size, both have double and single action. The only thing I'm not sure about is the trigger weight.

The KWA PTP (Personal Training Pistol) is the closest thing you'll find in an airsoft replica. They can be found for around $200 new.

In terms of functions Western Arms and KSC/KWA fully replicate it (TM/KJW/WE does not have decock function except in 2012 TM M9A1)

In terms of material, TM, WA uses plastic frame and slide, KJW and KSC/KWA uses metal alloy. Personally I like the feel of KSC/KWA -more realistic

In terms of trigger pull, NONE of them were even close to the real one. KSC/KWA one is 2-2.5lbs for single action and 4-5lbs (I forgot the exact number) Using a beretta trigger spring it only bumps to 6.5lbs on double action.

To me airsoft is great at practicing presentation, tactical reload, and aiming. Trigger practice is best do with dry firing on Beretta itself.

Thanks Kull for confirming trigger weights, since they are not the same it would be a no go for dry firing purposes.worst case scenario right now is to train longer on days where i can. The search for KWA 92fs got me realizing something. Airsoft has become dirt cheap since i last checked. I have left AS in fall 2011 to finance my sports shootings activities, but now it seems i can get a king arms m4 and the m9 pistol both together for about 400$. In 2010 when i started 550$ would get you an ics m4 alone.

If the prices keep up for spring 2013 it might just be an incentive to get out there and play a few.

for what it's worth, I have a KWA m9 PTP- fantastic, I had a KWA glock 18c, fantastic also.... I have a TM FN 5-7 and it is good..... weight and feel on a gun that in real life is not polymer, KWA is the best bet. as mentioned by kull the KWA PTP is called a PTP because it is meant to be a professional training pistol with 1:1 weight, size, and weight distribution.
