Installed the V2 bolt the other day. Thanks Ken. Gives the gun some more kick.

While lubing up my o-rings, I tightened the screw that holds the mag together too tight and managed to snap it. Anybody have any ideas on how to replace it?
![]() I'd also like to congratulate us on being the second most viewed and replied to topic in this section hahaha

You will have to extract the broken part of the screw, which will surely be a pain, using left handed drills and screw extractors. Then you'll have to hit a machine shop to buy a new screw of same dimension and threading.

Already extracted the broken part with pliers. Wasn't that bad cause I just took the mag apart. I'll check a machine shop, thanks.

Also make sure your mag's threading aren't damage too, otherwise, use a tap before putting everything back together !

Thanks Audi_bhoy. I also need to buy a metal lower now -_- My second plastic one is cracking in front of the buffer mount.

Hi guys - so my KJW M4's been giving me problems since day one. Instead of typing up a wall of text, I thought I'd just make a video.
Defective KJW M4 - YouTube If I shim the upper receiver so as to lessen the horizontal play of the bolt carrier, the dust cover and bolt catch start to function as they should. The failure to go into battery problem is still there, presumably because I haven't eliminated the vertical play of the bolt carrier. So hopefully if I'm right, I just need to replace the bolt carrier. I might be wrong, though - I don't have a properly functioning KJW M4 to compare with. Can you guys check how much play there is between your guide rod and your v2 bolt carrier? Last edited by D2D; April 23rd, 2012 at 23:58.. |

Use V1 bolt carrier and all related V1 parts. It WORKS, and imo the elastic band is good. It takes stress off other components and puts it on a $6 replaceable part. As a side note, always hit the forward assist after reloading to make sure bolt is in battery, it's sop

I would if I could, but I assume KJW doesn't sell v1 parts anymore. IF I'm right about the source of all my problems, then I figure I'll just get another v2 bolt from KJW or hold out for t_hum's bolt. I'm really hoping that I'm right and that it's not some dimensional problem with the upper receiver or something...
So with that said, can anyone please check their v2 bolts, like in the addendum video? Or even better, some kind soul can meet me in the GTA so I can compare? I can bring the coffee and donuts? ![]() Last edited by D2D; April 23rd, 2012 at 23:58.. |

How often do you clean/oil the bolt carrier and bolt?
My v2 bolt carrier parts have the same amount of wiggle when taken apart but since the bolt carrier is held in place by fitting together with the hop up and the bolt I've never noticed. My dust cover rarely opens properly from charging as well. |

Hi D2D. I did the exact test shown in your videos. I have pretty much the same play in your first video and addendum video. I also use digital caliper, results: guide rod 4mm. guide rod hole 4.15 ( only 0.5 difference from yours but not sure if that is enough to cause your problem).
Mine is working flawlessly though. I noticed two unusual: 1. Your plastic bolt head seems to have more play than mine. 2. For the bolt lock, your bolt carrier was unusually more forwarded exposed. It should be more backward when locked. Mine is only exposing 10mm of bolt carrier. (note: bolt carrier only, Plastic bolt was not included in the 10mm measuremet) Hope it helps isolate the problem.
