Here's a pic of my MK12 MOD 0 as an example of a DMR

as you can see, the hand guard is about the same length as a M16 and the rail on top extends all the way to the receiver because of the design. That's the biggest factor in choosing a RAS is being able to mesh in with the receiver in order to mount a decent scope on it. Don't worry so much about the length of the RAS because it doesn't affect the performance compared to the comfort of holding it. The length of a silencer is dependent on the length of the inner barrel if it goes beyond the outer barrel length. The inner barrel of a M16 if about 510mm in case you're unsure about it.

What rail system is that one? Are those rail covers on it or is the actual rail system cylindrical like that?

I like the rail system that is full rail on all 4 sides all the way to the receiver.

Go to www.airsoftparts.ca and check out the conversion kits. You may find what you are looking for. They have a few SPR full kits, but alot are just rails kits.

Figure out what you have currently, select the rail length you want, the barrel length (outer and inner) and what silencer length. This will help you narrow down what over all look you are going for with your M16.

Personally my JG 416 has a shorter rail. I didn't want to drop a ton of cash on a rail for my clone gun and an outer barrel, so I purchased a ludicrous 250mm silencer for it to hide my inner barrel.
