Oilless bushings are solid metal, usually stainless steel or brass.
Oil-Storing bushings are usually stainless, and have 1 or 2 channels or grooves cut into them, with the theory being the grooves will hold lubrication and keep the gear axles better lubricated. On the negative side, with very high-powered springs, sometimes these grooves can cause irregular wear on the gear axles, since they're not a single flat surface.

"oil-less" bushings refer to cast bushing that have some lubricant (oils and or graphite) mixed in the metal powder before the casting process. This slowly releases lubricant as the bushing is used. "oil channeled" bushings have two or more grooves running in the hole, in a circular patern. It is to hold so grease in place and help keep the bushing running. Almost all stainless bushing have that. You need to add a little grease every now and then. For higer speed setups, use some bearings, or if you are running a stiff spring, do a hybrid set (bearings on the bevel only). It will help the mechbox running well. |

Do not use the PDI oilless bushings. I found that they ovaled out in lifecycle testing very soon. I don't think they are pressing their bushings to sufficient density or airsoft gear shafts are not sufficiently well polished for softer bushing materials. I do not know enough to say much about other brands of oilless busings.
