Clarify? do you mean to say you can't shatter a car window with a pickaxe??!? I'm not sure what you mean

i think he was referring to the fact that you have both contributer and Platinum member. i was under the impression that platinum is higher than the contributer, so its just strange to see them both.

Pick axe will only put a hole in a windshield not shatter it. So there is no way something with as little weight behind it as a bb moving at <450 fps could shatter it.I realized I never added my $.02 on that myth even though it's probably been proven wrong over and over in this thread.

It's not the windshields you need to worry about. Not many airsofters are going to lay on the hood of a car for cover. That glass is laminated, and won't shatter very easily.

The side and rear windows are usually not laminated, but are tempered. A hard tool can shatter those with minimal effort, anybody watch Mythbusters the other night?

How many airsofters would use a car as cover, and be hiding along the side of a vehicle?

Auto glass is designed to break into non-jagged pieces - what holds it together (sometimes) is the laminate coating, but the times I've shattered a windscreen, its usually using a pointed tool at one corner of the window and the whole thing shatters every time. Its designed to fail that way.

EDIT: Oh I misread, I thought we were talking strictly about side windows. Front and rear windows usually have thicker laminate and hold together better than side windows. I can shatter a side window with a nail in the right place, whereas I usually use a glass saw to take out a front or rear window. The glass saw we use has a tool head on it which does exactly that, puts a hole in the window, you then stick the saw through the whole and start sawing.

Bottom line though is shatter or not, damage is damage. My front window has a lot of dings in it (370,000km worth to be exact) and even divets. Hit it the right way though and I am sure it will do the typical cube breakup.

I see it also, two tags.

Maybe you need to do something constructive for the community to get a contributor tag, vs. mailing in the $.

As for Contributor vs Supporter, there's no difference. It only shows up that way for the "old" style tags: I reused the existing wording, which for some reason was "contributor" for the lowest donation level, and "member" for silver, gold and platinum levels.

The two other sets of tags (the ugly round ones and alt set) all use the word "supporter." We didn't want to re-use "member" since it somewhat infers membership in the community is only for those who paid.

Hope that clears up the confusion. Sorry about the threadjack.

A pallet? Can I count on you for an order that large?
We're all here waiting. My hands are tied. Bioval BBB's + BBBFLUO (tracer) coming in about 2-3 weeks, and the BBBMAX shortly thereafter.
