Couldnt u just enlarge the holes of the mechbox slightly so they fit in nicely? Using something like a file or a smaller drill bit to enlarge the hole just slightly? I've been doing this for a while to majority of the gearboxes so the metal bushing fit in snuggly and dont need such huge force to fit in.
