You gotta remember that propane is used in this case as a pressurized gas, not a flamable gas. Unless your son puts a lighter next to the valve, there shouldn't be an issue. Almost all of our pistols run off of propane and as far as I know, no one has blown their hand off.

Only if mistreated horrendously, ie; hitting it with a hammer when it's full of propane, letting it rust... dumb things like that. Those greandes are designed to be safe or else we'd never use them AND manufacturers wouldn't be able to sell them legally.
In short, they are safe but we do not condone your decision to buy your son airsoft equipment, it is illegal for minors to own airsoft guns. Your son is 14, thus making him a minor, sorry to ruin the fun but it's the law.

It's not illegal for minors to own airsoft guns in the US, which is what I bet we're dealing with.
BTW, I heard some kid in Latveria blew his friend's fingers off last year with a propane grenade. Airsoft is now banned there.

Yeah... make sure he doesn't pull the pin, drop it by accident, then try to pick it up and throw it...
Without goggles and a mask anyway... Although he would learn something...

The bottom line is minors shouldn't use these things. I'm not saying your son is irresponsible but like it has already been stated, misusing anything airsoft CAN be dangerous. After all we are shooting each other with life like weapons.

It's not illegal for minors to own airsoft in Canada either. Provincial laws say that you have to be 18 to buy one, but nothing about being 18 to own one.
If you're in Canada, you won't get a grenade launcher for under $200, and that's more than likely used. And you won't get any rounds with that either. Those are rather expensive. You can get them cheap in the US or Asia, but they're prohibited items and you can't import them. If you try to order one from abroad, it will get seized by customs. If you try to import one personally from the US and bring it across, it will get confiscated when you declare it. If you don't declare it, you're smuggling, and if you get caught, I hope you enjoy body cavity searches.

Did I say it was illegal? And to be accurate, Ontario provincially law restricts sale by business to people 18 and over.
