do all AK-47 part fit together.

I want to know about the compatibilty of ak parts.. for instance could I convert a AK beita spetsnaz into a standard AK 47. also are all the body frames the same or are they different? thanks

I can only speak for the TM models, and the after-market metal bodies. Beta Spetz recievers are the same as the standard full stock recievers. The AK-47S is differant because it has the folding stock. You can swap out the front sections freely. Generally speaking, all TM AK parts can be freely swapped between the three differant models.

I can swap pretty much anything between my TM Spetz and my TM AK47.

I know that the '74 style pistol grip I got fits on my TM but I couldn't say where it came from. As far as I know most CA and ICS parts won't fit a TM because CA and ICS aim for a more realistic take-down system with a replica recoil spring under the top cover etc. Someone with more experience in that area should be able to tell you better.

Thats not to say little bits like flash hiders and the like won't be cross-compatible. And I found that the Classic Army mags for my AK were some of the nicest I've found. They fit very well in my G&G metal body.

EDIT: It was a G&G metal body, not the a G&P like I thought...

Im quite sure the CA is partially a TM clone, including the cocking handle that can only be moved about an inch? The ICS and G&G are the more realistic ones, G&G especially. Oh and VFC.

Cheers,
Alex

Alex is probably right there. I thought though that the new CA SLRs had bolt handles that went all the way back.
