Sorbo Pad and Glue?
Hello!
So i am thinking of Installing a Sorbo Pad (40D) Into my project gun. But i am having trouble trying to figure out which 'Super' Glue would work best! Here is a picture packing says its good on Metal and Rubber Materials so i am not sure. ![]() This is the only glue that was available at the store in town i live in. My god... Lol But yeah I am only shooting with an M90 so i am trying to make it sound a little quieter. ![]()

Not sure what difference the 'skin guard' formula makes, but most all forms of CA (the chemical behind all 'super' type glues) will work really well on rubber.
You should keep your expectations low on the difference in sound though - I tried a sorbo pad in one of my guns, and it didn't make the gun noticeably quieter. |

Sorbo pads are more for correcting the AOE on your gun then anything.
Either glue should work I would think. |

I don't like Krazy glue. I find that they are too brittle and doesn't have strong enough holding power.
I use Gorilla glue for my sorbo pads. It's held up much better so far from my experience.

It does seem "brittle" and fragile... I just tested it out on my M16 and so far no problems i get the feeling that it'll just snap and the thing will be ruined. Installing Sorbo Pads everywhere! Even in my Sniper Rifles! @_@ Gonna try... a pistol next!

I'm not entirely sure why I put "dampens"... It's not like it makes it moist or anything.
But yeah, any CA superglue will work. Just make sure you clean the pads and surface before applying. |

Where did you buy Sorbo pads? I need one for my VFC.

vfcs generally have pretty good AOE. If you're going to put sorbo on though, you need to change the cylinder head too. the rubber pad needs to come off but it's really fused onto the cylinder head. It will be hard to create a flat gluing surface for the sorbo if you manage to get the pad off. I narfed up a stock cylinder head pretty good trying to get the pad off and in the end I just gave up and bought a new cylinder head.

the weakpoint is the piston... it will eat itself pretty quick. I have about 5 or 6 ones in various states of wear/destruction in my junk parts bag from various client guns. VFCs start with pretty good aoe and air seal, doesn't mean you should completely discount it. I would change it when you open the gearbox for the piston change whenever that comes up. :P

I use 2 neopads instead of a sorbo pad on VFC cylinder heads...
