personally, I love ironsights significantly. I play in both cqb and field games, use ironsights only. If it's dark out, both my guns have flashlights. Otherwise, I find that if you use the ironsights enough, you get to be able to naturally point your gun and pretty much hit what you're looking at. The only trouble I have right now with ironsights and AEGs is that I don't always have a form fitting facemask that allows me to use them.

Red dots, holosights etc. are great for shooting with both eyes open and at typical airsoft distances. That said if you can't start off shooting with iron sights only you have problems. Then for CQB you're not going to be aiming most of the time, its snap shooting.
