in a pinch, you're generally screwed.. cr123s cost a fair amount at retailers... but CT, wallyworld, thesource/radio shack, best buy should all carry them.
If you have time to wait, ebay is a pretty good place to buy them in bulk. I bought a 12 pack a couple years ago. Averaged less than 2$ per

Battery Junction is where I've gone in the past. There were some really good tests a few years ago comparing various brands of CR123s and the no-name units came out surprisingly strong.
I counted up my gear closet over the weekend and I think I've got . . . seven (?) different devices that run of CR123s. Finding a reliable resource for a decent price is on my priority list.

If you don't need them right away and can wait, I've been liking the TrustFire CR123A's from DX. $2.70 a pair, but I usually order in bulk so it's $2.37 a pair

+1 on the rechargables, $5 for a cradle and your LiPo charger can charge them as 1S LiPo
