Nice. That guy is nuts to put his shells in mud and water. But all for the demo I guess.
I had designs for something similar. My only issue is that they would need to fit both standard and king shells. |

Those were real training) rounds, not airsoft.
I figured that would be an issue, the crazy variety of shell lengths in airsoft.

Are you sure. In one section of the video you can clearly see the bb tubes from the top of the nade.
My design, that never really made it to prototype, was to be worn horizontally instead of vertically so as to not occupy so much vertical space on a rig. (Was thinking of short people) Would have been able to still mount pouches on the front if so desired. There would have been a slight contour to it. Had I gone with a similar design to the one in the video, loaded nades would exit from the bottom like a gravity fed mag. Spent rounds inserted from the top. Grenades would exit in front of you just as if you were pulling out a mag from a pouch. Remaining rounds would advance leaving space in the rear to drop in spent rounds. It wouldn't have used typical follower to advance the rounds rather use industrial rubber bands to pull the rounds forward. The same but in reverse for the spent rounds to maintain retention. I was also tinkering with an idea to build a backpack transport system that would eliminate any twitchy, high psi rounds from banging together causing an inadvertent discharge. I also wanted to add a recovery tube over the left shoulder to drop spent rounds. Carrying upwards of 12 spent rounds in one, or even multiple, dump pouches sucks royally! Alas, I've downgraded and haven't actually run 40's for about a year. lol BUT the golden dongs, aka kings, shall hurl BB's again some day! |
