they need to make a smaller weapon mountable version with cross hairs/aiming point. i have seen pictures of the internals of this thing and they use beefy old ass components. if they were to use more modern parts, i can see them cutting down its bulk by at least 20%

Isn't it illegal for civs to have weapon mounted thermal/infared sights?

i'd hate to buy one only to get the lenses shot out... Especially at that price.

No it's common for hunters to use them. The only thing illegal about guns is the guns themselves not accessories (suppressors/silencers/flash hiders are illegal OFC) |

youonlywish could you enlighten us a bit more on the product. Whats the resolution in lm/mm, what gen?. Does this use white phosphorus technology. I was looking into the ATN night spirit for a low budget 2+ nvg. This looks a whole lot clearer and the added built in zoom is a big plus. Read some other reviews and some people complained about a low frame rate? And that this is more like a camcorder than a true nvg.

I can't tell you personally the hard specs on a device like this because I know very little about NV technology. I got to handle this product on lend and wanted to do a 'hands on' look at it, through the lens.
It's DEFINATELY clear. I couldn't see any problems at all with frame-rate, but my eye might not be as keen as a true NV enthusiast. More like a camcorder? Depends on who's looking, and what your philosophy of use is, I suppose.
