Hello people
I've got a glock problem that stumped me. Its driving me raving mad. The gun in question is a KSC Glock 17. Acquired it second hand, with upgraded recoil spring, metal slide, and high flow valve. Problem: was shooting alright at first, but suddenly stopped shooting altogether. Nothing happens when the trigger is pulled. No blowback, no bb shooting out. Prior to complete malfunction, the blowback, as well as bb velocity started to get softer and softer till it completely died out. The mag also feels a bit too tight once its loaded. Doesn't slide out once the mag release button is pushed. I need to pull it out hard. Problem area? Disassembled the slide and blowback chamber, but all parts seem to be in working order, with no physical defects to parts. Hammer assembly seems to be working fine too. It's cleaned and lubed religiously. Kinda bugging me for awhile. Any help is much appreciated. |

I'd take a look closer at the hammer assembly, I bought an ARMY R17 (TM G17 clone) BNIB and didnt had time to game it that the knocker broke, but couldn't see it if not disassembled. Gun was going right and wrong, that was bugging me too!

Check the screw that holds the rear sight. Mine came free and would block the striker.

Check part #78. Sounds like that could have snapped. Its the striking hammer.

One question: With the slide taken off, and a filled mag inserted, would the still shoot out if I pull the trigger? Or is it a safety mechanism? |

It would dump the whole mag since there's no slide to re-set the striker.

unlikely. It looks intact. I've observed that the hammer only goes up a quarter of the way ONLY when a mag inserted, and without the slide. edit: i think ive narrowed it down to the hammer assembly. tinkered with it a bit and got it to work, but its on and off. sometime it works, sometimes it doesn't. |

make sure the hammer spring is resting on the inner ledge of part 93, and also make sure that spring 84 is supplying enough tension on part 87. (sear spring and sear, respectively)
also, once the slide is off, wiggle the trigger relay arm (part 92), if it has a lot of play, your sear and sear spring are not aligned correctly. if it is snug, the issue is likely the hammer spring placement/tension (do you have an enhanced spring?) see the little nipple sticking out of the rear most part of the relay rod (part 92) if that is not sitting 100% correct on 87, it will do what you have described. one last thing, part 93 has a shi/spacer that goes on the inside, BEFORE you press in pin 76, is that in place? ![]() |

I would check #24 - the reed valve... or the pin that holds it in place.

missallignment of the relay arm is pretty common, i have dealt with that also.
part # 84 is a sneeky little bugger too, if it isnt on PERFECT, it wont put the pressure on the sear, and thus the relay arm. just a thought. |

easy test bud - if u press on the right side of the rear of the slide and pull the trigger and it fires fine then the relay arm is off or misaligned. have the same problem with a KSC G27 a while back - bought a new arm and fixed problem instantaneouly - even when i compare the arm to the new one I can't see any difference but one won't connect properly without exherting pressure on the rear right of the slide assembly!

I'm currently reassembling the hammer mechanism. Have some connecting the relay arm. How does it fit on to part #94? its fiddly as hell! ugh!
