Paint Removal?
I painted my full metal CQBR tan a while ago but am not digging it so much anymore. Was wondering if there are any good techniques/ways to remove the paint completely or give it a "dusted" look. I've heard Nail Polish remover works? Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Paint stripper will usually remove paint...so will abrasive paper/steel wool

Scotch brite.
Repaint. Fine ssnd paper. Baby tears. (jk that one dont work lol) If you want it tan with that dusted or warn out look go scotch brite or repaint black then dust tan. I personnaly would sand or scotch brite the whole thing down and repaint it. Sometimes nail polish remover or paint thinner will work but its stinky and will likely strip it to metal. Full strip/sand and repaint will give the best results layers on layers of paint will start to look crappy

Scotch brite or a 300-600grit wet sand will not cause scratches to the metal. 300 will leave small swirl marks but once you hit it with 600 wet itll be buttery smooth

Take it to a shop to get sandblasted properly. Just tell them what material it is and they should be able to clean it up right nice for you.

Best option! Just make sure you apply a good primer before repainting.

I used a graffiti remover and my gun turned out great the only thing I can suggest you do is test it in a small area first and use as little as possible as it is a weak form of paint thiner I just did it to a g&g m16 and swapped the body to metal because it was a cansoft ill try to post some picture of the be for and after.

You can get paint stripper and steel wool and remove the paint that way. Should take about half an hour or so.

When using paint stripper, be sure to use it in a well ventilated and cool area. With some of them, do to the chemical reaction that takes place, it could actually burst into flames.
I know that's the case with anodize removers |

This is not the place to discuss this.
It belong in the general section IMO. This is a tactical subsection. Not a technical craft skill one.

Paint stripper works very well. Done it.
I placed a M4 receiver into pan with stripper in it. Cover to reduce the fumes. Let it sit there for an 1/2 hour. Take it out and used a cloth towel to wipe off the paint that has bubbled. Put it back it and the remaining will dissolve off. Before I did touch up on certain areas and it looked bad. Looks more professional if you painted the whole receiver or what ever part you are doing. Strip it all and repaint. |

Depending on the material you can use Acetone. Standard ABS plastic doesn't like it (gets dissolved by the chemical) but furnitures made in other material like nylon fiber (like the ARES G36 series) can take without even flinching.
