I am optimistic that it won't be banned, but I'll bet they'll make it a lot harder to obtain an airsoft. They should do here what they did in the UK. You can have your replica gun, provided you have a permit. I'm totally fine with that. If you don't have a permit, you can still have your gun provided you're 18, but it'll be bright green in color (at least that's what I've been told by a few friends from over there).
I just hope they didn't completely screw you when they edited your interview. I'm just getting in to this, and I'd like to be able to enjoy it for a few years.

i really doubt a couple of media pieces will do anything to change anything..
There are lots of laws on the books to govern the illegal use of imitation guns.. I expect the government would move on additional firearms regulations first .. such as the much shouted " ban handguns" call.
The current federal government has an ocean of fish way bigger to fry before they even consider gun legislaton.. and I'd expect the current government to actualy reduce restriction by dumping the gun registry .. rather than waste time with a ban that will do nothing.
