So i've spend the past hour milling out the section for the second mod, turns out the problem i thought would happen happened.
I tried it on an old blowback chamber i had. Racked the slide, and pulled the trigger. It fired, however the hammer released before the slide could move fully forward, therefore causing the hammer to catch the back end of the blowback chamber and not resetting fully forward.
HOWEVER, i have a possible solution, which may explain whats happening in the videos as well.
Install buffers on the recoil rod to prevent slide overtravel. That way the slide will move back far enough to reset the hammer, but not far enough to allow the hammer to get caught under the blowback chamber.
Doing this however would actually render the slide catch useless since the slide doesn't move back far enough to get caught, which to me makes perfect sense! Many people caught on that in the demo video when the guys ran their mags empty the slide never caught, and since the slide is moving too fast to see you can't tell if the slide is moving back all the way either.
I'll try with the buffers later on, right now though i reallllly gotta get back to doing homework.
