Plain OD is a very effective camoflage colour. Since it's still a big blob in a see of shades and forms, you need to take special care to camoflage yourself. As is behind something, close to the ground. Especially avoir silhouetting yourself.
If you wear a vest over that OD shirt, and the vest is not OD, you will keep a good camoflage ratio.
My team new BDU is plain OD. Our success rate so far is as good as any other people with patern camo. Simply because most people search for moving targets and can't really detect immobile embushers.
