It's because the atmosphere in Canada is extremely hostile to airsoft (While airguns and real guns are actually easier to procure). We want everybody to be 18+ so they can be legally responsible for their actions by Canadian law. It takes just one kid to mess up really badly for the laws to get even worse and then possession of airsoft and not just importing of airsoft will be made illegal.
