Propane wouldn't hurt your gun, but if it's designed for a higher pressure gas (CO2), the performance on propane may be lacking and rof will more than likely take a big hit. There's a possibility that there might not be enough pressure to cycle the bolt. But it wouldn't hurt it.
Now, it MAY work just fine too, but with reduced performance.
