I've seen these in action, they're great little units. I've also used the Icom F21BR, which is a comparable but slightly scaled down version of these radios. Programming was somewhat more involved, but they were an excellent radio.
I now use an Abel 378, which is a Kenwood 370 series clone. In fact after cracking one open it was all Kenwood inside. These are a great radio, very programmable, 5 watts or any portion up to it, wide/narrow band, you name it. They are programmable by computer or through the front panel, which is easier and faster. They're also very hackable, and can do tons more after a few easy modifications. BCAC had a group order on these a few years ago, and they proved themselves to be an incredible little radio setup. I highly recommend them.
