Hey all, I was bored today and was looking at my paintball (yes I know not airsoft) gun. I was thinking of how I could make a snow camo cover for it and started looking around my room for a solution. And finally I found one, a sock laying on the ground...
I took three normal tube socks and cut them up a bit and was able to cover the main parts of the gun. Now I realize that this is a paintball gun but with the exception of the hopper it is really no different than a airsoft rifle. So you could probably do the same thing with a m4/m16 airsoft rifle. So here was my result:
The gun went from this:
To this:
Now I realize that the socks I used were old and dirty, you can see lots of hole around the butt stock area and the sock used to cover the hopper probably could have used some bleach. But this was just to see if it would work and how it would look. Also the tape on the hopper was to hold that sock on because there was nothing protruding that I could hook it to.
I can get past the ghettoness of the whole idea and I could see myself actually using this method. However a custom made camo sock would be better, but hey this is something pretty much anyone can do and its totally free, plus who doesn't have some mismatched socks laying around?
I plan on taking it outside and seeing how it contrasts with the snow. I will let you know how it works...
