your spring could be under so much tension that it pops off the spring guide not allowing the piston to move completely back thus locking up teh gearbox.
Make sure you have ball bearing spring guide and a ball bearing piston head with a spring that has filed ends to make it flat instead of round..
I have had a buch of gearboxes with this type of problem.
gearboxes lock up from lack of torque(espically for a M150(gears/motor insufficient?)), things jamming, loose shims, and parts not put in properly.
