Choose the largest wire you can fit in there. More conductor = less resistance.
Literal silver wire is not something used outside of super high end electronics or scientific experiments.
The term "silver wire" when thrown around in airsoft refers to silver PLATED copper wire. It just offers better resistance to corrosion, it does NOT give you better conductivity.
The GRADE of copper will drastically affect the performance of the wire, and it just so happens that wire that is silver plated tends to be higher quality.

And use teflon jacket wire for the gun; the insulation is more durable and thinner, usually allowing you to fit a size or two larger gauge.
Silicone insulation should be used as a flexible lead for the battery; it's easier to handle and far more flexible. However, it's very soft compared to teflon jacket and can be torn easily.
