Since the cheapest ACM high torque is about $35 + shipping, I feel like anything you can get for cheaper that is not neo won't give you the satisfaction proportional to the cash you will pay.
You might just have to save up and bite the bullet later. Maybe look into used? Buy a neo can and stick some armature in there.
