I've seen people run a 9.6 large for 3 years and their contacts were bronzed and only slightly dirty
I've also seen people run a 9.6 large for 3 months and either the contacts were so dirty they didnt conduct anymore or the trigger block had melted.
Regardless of anyone's past experience with throw-switch triggers and high voltage, it's ALWAYS a good idea to install a mosfet on anything 9.6v or above, 7.4v LiPo, and any setup you want more energy efficiency
