I think you need to adjust your hop up or maybe get a new rubber or some better bb's.
Most stock aegs shooting 350-400 fps should have an effective range of 150-200 feet (most closer to 150) my stock mp5k with a barrel the size of a pistol (120mm or so) and a promy bridge hop shoots 200 feet plus accurately
My m4 with a 455 tight bore and bridge hop is close to 250 feet
My ak is about the same
This holds true for almost all aegs from cheap cymas and echo1 to expensive vfc and tm
(ill note my mp5k is a cyma my m4 is an echo1 ak is an lct)

My experience is similar to the original poster - 100 to 120 feet is my max range that I can hit someone. Beyond that, I really have to aim upwards and try to drop the BBs on him/her. Take a look at the
Airsoft Trajectory Project for a 400 fps using 0.2 g BBs. There are three curves for a 0.2, 0.25 and 0.3 g BB. All of them experience significant dropoff after about 110 feet. So, I am amazed that you are accurate to 200 and 250 feet.
