The socom gear 1911 mags are not compatible with any other brands except their own.
The socom gear/WE Les Baer 1911 is a shared design with KJW and uses the same KJW KP07/1911/MEU mags.
The orange tip...
If it's a plastic tip, is glued in and you'll need to heat up the barrel to pop it off.
If it's an orange threaded adapter, you'll have to heat up the barrel and use a pair of vice grips to twist it off, it is positive threaded.
If it's painted on, leave the barrel soaking in acetone (nail polish remover) for 30 minutes and rub the paint off with a towel.
