Anyway, programming a radio with the main channels is all you need to do and then keep a small chart with the CTCSS frequencies in your note book or admin panel. The problem with preprograming with CTCSS is when you need to switch channels quickly on the fly.
When I don't use CTCSS tones, I pick up tons of interference and stray comms from people outside of the games. This doesn't apply when you're playing out in the woods, but for a place like CQB in Toronto - it helps immensely.
